Where OCR usually fails, verification catches it

Scans are where converters make mistakes: a 3 read as an 8, a smudged line skipped. The balance check flags exactly those rows so you can fix them in seconds.

Tips for better scans

Scan at 200 dpi or more, keep pages straight, and include every page of the statement (the first page usually has the opening balance, the last page the closing balance).
